I thought the best way to gain views was to !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . I’ve been wasting my time, it would seem.

Best way to get views is to post at a time where lots of people are on Oppo. Late evening typically works best for me. When posting something you want people to see, timing is everything. For things I write that are likely to get front-paged, I wait until late-afternoon/evening on a Friday because content flow on weekends is typically down from weekdays giving my posts more time on the front page.

Awesome photo dump though, some really cool stuff in there.

Thank you and thank you. Though I don’t post much FP worthy material. I feel like I’ve kind of made a running gag out of forcing a link to that dump upon people. Not that I’m going to stop, of course ;)

Links to old posts never worked as well as I had hoped for me, but that’s really a killer photodump. Close to 500 views solely on Oppo isn’t too shabby either. Was the Veyron SS and such at Gold Coast in Chicago?

The best ways to get views are pretty basic:

Shortest title possible while still being interesting and maintaining the subject of your post

Shortest lede (first paragraph that shows on main page preview) possible while still being interesting and maintaining the subject of your post

Shortest post possible while still being interesting and maintaining the subject matter, with an entertaining voice

Are you seeing a trend here?

And all of those are only possible if you actually have something interesting and inviting and engaging to talk about

For example — your Year In Review post is perfect for Oppo, but just calling it “sm70- why no Duesenberg?’s 2015 Year In Review” sounds like a bunch of opinions that aren’t mine, when if fact it was a bunch of interesting car porn and decent opinions.

Also someone said timing. On a group forum, timing is key.
